I am both a visual artist and a poet.
Poems and paintings are portals through which I negotiate the imagined, on the one hand, and the real, on the other, traversing the boundary between the known and the unknown.
A touchstone for me is John Keats’ assertion
in an 1818 letter: “I am certain of nothing but the holiness of the heart’s affections,
and the truth of imagination.”
